Road Trip: Tomahawk, Wisconsin
Fall Color Rally 2004

Most years we attend the Tomahawk Fall Color Rally in northern Wisconsin. There is a Harley factory there and I like the t-shirts and sweatshirts you can get with their logo on them. They're cheap, too! This year, for the first time in 2-3 years, it actually was NOT raining. CrowDog took off work on Friday and we headed up in rather cool temps (upper 40s) but it was sunny. We were passed by a pack of bikes at one point that had a chase vehicle with them. I could see why. With the size of the egos they were packing, there wasn't any more room on their bikes! One chick on a Sporty thought she was sooooooo cool. It was funny. Being as how it was a Friday, we beat most of the rush up there and it was nice to not have to worry about being hit by somebody not paying attention. But by the time we left (we do this as a one-day thing, even though it's 175 miles up there), the weather was warm and sunny, and there were TONS of bikes heading up. I imagine the mayhem on Saturday was much worse than in past rainy years. One of these times we'll spend the entire weekend and take in some of the concerts, the street dance, and even the swap meet at the race track.

I like this paint scheme. It was a bit different. The owner of this 1940 Indian said that he'd just returned from Alaska!

I got a kick out of this. We like to eat LOTS of brats in Wisconsin, so we need a BIIIIIIGGGGG grill!

The graphics on this bike were incredible. The detail was simply amazing. Closeup of the front fender. Incredible art work.

Some of the bikes that were there. This was just one small section of one lot. Yes, that's me reflected in the chrome!

I thought this bike was lovely. This doggy was resting his head on the table and watching the world go by.
