Sturgis 2005

We finally were able to get back to the Sturgis, South Dakota rally after a six year absence. It was amazing how everything has grown--even little Hill City blocked off the streets for bikes-only parking! The weather was perfect (in the 70s most of the week), the rain avoided us (or did we avoid the rain?), and the people were great. This is a small sample of some of the photos I took.

We took Highway 44 out this year instead of the interstate. A great route with very little traffic. Main Street in Hill City!

Just a few parked bikes. These guys had a "Dumb Ass" sign. It wasn't for any of the riders, though. See next pic.

The "Dumb Ass" sign was for car drivers who ignored the warning signs and ended up doing a U-turn when they saw the street was blocked. Some squeaked through anyway, though! Sturgis, South Dakota

I even sprung another $5 to climb the photo tower at the other end of the street. I know, big spender... Note the dumb ass in the car squeaking through all the bikes. Scooter Pooch

We spent some time one morning watching them work on the Crazy Horse monument. Donna at Pactola Lake (which was down 27' due to the drought).
