Women in the Wind is my motorcycle club founded in 1979 in Toledo, Ohio. I've been a member since 1991 and served four years as the International Newsletter Editor, retiring in 1997. We have chapters all over the U.S. and Canada and even have a chapter in Great Britain!

WITW Winter Nationals, Tampa, FL I've really enjoyed being a member and meeting other women who share my love of motorcycling. I especially love our two annual national meetings, even though I've been unable to attend in a long time. In 1995 Winter Nationals was held in Tampa, Florida. What a treat for a Wisconsinite--I could ride in March. Later that year, our Summer Nationals was held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and many of us rode to Sturgis afterwards.

Women in the Wind chapter membership is open to any woman who has a motorcycle license and either owns or has access to a motorcycle. Associate membership is for women who maybe don't ride their own bike yet, or who don't have the time to devote to a chapter. If you'd like to find out if there's a chapter in your area (if there isn't, it only takes three women to start one!) or if you'd like more info on WITW, visit http://www.womeninthewind.org/.

On April 18, 1998 CrowDog and I attended WITW Sisters of the Moon's Tax Relief Poker Run in Madison, Wisconsin. We had a fantastic time and even went home with a couple of door prizes! A great day with some great people. The photo collage below shows a few pictures of the event. By the way, that's Joker at the bottom of the page peeking over the banner that I just couldn't quite fit into the picture!
